Responded mutual aid to Crooked Creek Fire Department for structure fire and woods fire.

Responded to structure fire with mutual aid from Bat Cave, Chimney Rock, and Garren Creek Fire Departments. Extinguished and overhauled.

Dispatched automatic aid to Black Mountain, NC for 8 wildland fires in a short period of time (1:35pm to 2:45pm).

Mutual Aid to Fairview Fire Department. Personnel on scene and standby at main station.

Wildland Fire endangering structures. Contained and extinguished. Mutual aid from Garren Creek Fire Department received.

Fire arrived 24 hours earlier then predicted. Structure protection begins. Nearly every fire department in County and resources from Lake Lure IMT begin supporting structure protection assignments. This continues for 11 days.

Sent Brush Apparatus with 3 personnel with assignment to Patrol and Protect structures in Rumbling Bald Resort Area (12 Hour Operational period).

Sent Wildland Firefighter crew by ATV from Shumont Road to Party Rock to assist with initial attack on Party Rock Fire (Day 01 of Party Rock Fire). Crew remained on scene until released by Lake Lure Command.

On August 13, 2015 at 2:55pm personnel were dispatched to a motor vehicle fire near Lower Sand Branch and NC 9 Hwy. E22 arrived at 2:58pm advising a fully involved engine compartment fire and all occupants out of vehicle. At 3:02pm fire was declared under control. One nearby resident attempted to extinguish with an ABC extinguisher prior to E22 arrival stating the fire was too hot. Cause is still under investigation with possibility of the starter being cause.

On August 6, 2015 at approximately 1:05pm personnel were dispatched to a motor vehicle crash with unknown injuries. Personnel arrived on scene at 1:09pm finding one occupant trapped inside. Occupant was freed within a couple minutes and transported with non-life threatening injuries.

Personnel responded to investigate several areas for flooding. NC DOT arrived in the Crooked Creek area and will be further investigating any damage to the two bridges along with road repair. Numerous additional areas had flooding believed to be minor with no reported damage. The Morgan Hill water point shown in photo below is normally several feet below the roadway. At approximately 14:17 on Thursday March 21 Broad River Fire & Rescue received a call for Mutual Aid to Bat Cave Fire Department for a structure fire. At approximately 17:18 on Wednesday December 19th Broad River Fire & Rescue received an alarm for a structure fire. Personnel arrived finding a single story wood framed structure, heavy fire on the Bravo side already extending into the structure with black smoke and flame exiting the gable vent on Delta side. Tenants arrived shortly after initial units confirming there were no occupants inside. At 21:20 personnel responded to a MVC with unknown injuries. C22, E22, & 2210 along with other personell in POVs arrived on scene finding a vehicle had left the roadway coming to rest approximately 80 feet over an embankment. One occupant was already at the roadway and was later transported for injuries not believed to be life threatening. Wrecker service took approximately one hour after arriving to recover the vehicle. All remaining units cleared the scene shortly after midnight.

On August 1, 2012 at approximately 16:37 we received a call reference possible search with subject also possibly having a heart attack. Personnel arrived on scene within 6 minutes. The patient was able to call out for help giving crews a general location to begin locating. On Saturday June 30 several members graciously donated several hours of their time to participate in a Boot Drive being conducted across Buncombe County. Proceeds go entirely towards an Emergency Services Memorial honoring Fire, Police, & EMS personnel which will be built on Buncombe Countys Training Center site. On Saturday April 4th at approximately 8:25 C22, E22, & TR22 responded to an MVC. Units arrived on scene and found a single vehicle which left the roadway coming to rest approximately 60 feet over an embankment. The driver was sole occupant and had reached the roadway prior to arrival stating they were uninjured. All units cleared the scene at 11:45.

On Tuesday January 17, 2012 at 6:59pm C22, E22, 2210, & TR22 responded to a motor vehicle crash involving a rollover. Upon arrival found single vehicle on its top with extensive damage and a utility pole resting on it. The vehicle appeared to have rolled numerous times prior to stopping. On 11/3/11 at approximately 15::31 Broad River Fire & Rescue responded mutual aid to Garren Creek FD for a woods fire endangering structures. Initial response was T22-2, BR22, & TR22 with ATV-22. T22-2 provided structure protection while the CAFS on ATV22 was used for suppresion and containment. All units cleared the scene at approx. 20:19.
