Retired Apparatus

The history of Broad River Volunteer Fire & Rescue Department can be told, in part, through the apparatus that carried our members to emergencies, training events, community programs, and countless calls for help over the years.

Each retired unit represents a chapter in our department’s service to the Broad River community. These vehicles responded to structure fires, motor vehicle crashes, medical emergencies, rescue calls, brush fires, storm-related incidents, and mutual aid assignments throughout our response area and beyond.

While apparatus eventually reaches the end of its frontline service life, its impact remains part of the department’s story. Many of these units helped protect lives and property, supported firefighter training, and gave generations of members the tools they needed to serve their neighbors.

This page recognizes the retired apparatus that helped build the foundation of Broad River Volunteer Fire & Rescue Department. We are proud to preserve their history and honor the members who operated, maintained, and responded with them.

Preserving Our Department History

Fire apparatus is more than equipment. For a volunteer fire and rescue department, each truck carries memories of early-morning calls, long training nights, community events, difficult incidents, and the teamwork required to serve a rural and mountainous response area.

As our department continues to modernize its fleet, retired apparatus reminds us where we started and how far we have come. These vehicles helped shape the department’s operations, traditions, and commitment to service.
